Using Your Verifone VX680 or VX820 Terminal

How do I set up my terminal?
First, connect your terminal to its power supply and internet source.

If connecting the VX680:

    1. Connect your ethernet or telephone cable to the port below the “ETH” or telephone icon on your terminal’s charging base.
    2. Connect the other end of the ethernet or telephone cable into your router or telephone outlet.
    3. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet, then connect it to the port next to the lightning bolt icon.
    4. Place the terminal on its charging base. It’s recommended to charge it for 8-12 hours daily.

If connecting the VX820:

      1. Your terminal has two parts: a handheld terminal and a Duet base. Take the cord attached to the terminal and connect it to the port on the base next to the terminal icon.
      2. Connect your ethernet cable to the port below the “ETH” icon. Connect the other end of your ethernet cable to your internet router.
      3. If you require a phone line, connect it to the port below the telephone icon. Connect the other end to an analog phone jack.
      4. Plug the power cable into the power adaptor cable. Plug the other end of the power adaptor cable into the port next to the lightning bolt icon on the side of the Duet base. Turn the power adaptor cable connector counter-clockwise to lock it into place.

Plug the other end of the power cable into a power source. Always connect to a power source last in order to avoid power surges.

When the terminal is powered on, one of of the following screens will be displayed depending on the software installed on your terminal:

	CommServer
	SOFTPAY-FDCC
	[OPTIONAL]


Or

	VMAC
	DATE		TIME
	CommServer
	PAYMENT APP
	[OPTIONAL]

Select “SOFTPAY-FDCC” or “PAYMENT APP” to accept payments. Select “CommServer” for IP configuration or troubleshooting.

Press the * key to exit and return to the main VMAC menu.

How do I make a sale?
  1. Select “Purchase.”
  2. Enter the amount of the purchase using the keypad. Press the green “OK” key.
  3. Verify the amount on the screen and pass the terminal to the cardholder.
  4. The cardholder taps, inserts, or swipes their card. If the cardholder taps their card, skip to step 8.
  5. The cardholder selects “YES” to process the transaction or “NO” to decline and stop the transaction.
  6. If the cardholder is processing a debit transaction, they select the account type.
  7. The cardholder enters their PIN and presses the green “OK” key.
  8. The status of the transaction will be displayed, and the cardholder will be prompted to remove their card.
  9. Tear off the merchant receipt and press the green “OK” key to print the customer copy.
How do I refund a transaction?
  1. Select “Refund.”
  2. Enter the refund amount using the keypad and press the green “OK” key.
  3. Verify the amount displayed on the screen. Tap, insert, swipe, or manually key the account number and press the green “OK” key.
  4. Select “YES” to confirm the amount or “NO” to decline the amount and stop the transaction.
  5. The status will be displayed and the cardholder will be prompted to remove their card.
  6. The merchant copy of the receipt will print automatically. Press the green “OK” key to print the customer copy.
How do I void a transaction?
  1. To delete a transaction in the current open batch, select “CORRECTION.”
  2. To correct the last transaction, select “YES.” To correct any other transaction in the current open batch, select “NO.”
  3. Select “INV#” to search for the transaction by invoice number or select “ACCT#” to search by account number.
  4. Enter the invoice number or the last four digits of the account number to find the transaction, then press the green “OK” key.
  5. Select “YES,” “NO,” or “NEXT” depending on whether you have found the correct transaction, or press “CANCEL” to return to the main menu.
  6. Select “YES” to reverse the transaction and update the batch.
  7. The merchant copy of the receipt will print automatically. Press the green “OK” key to print the customer copy.
How do I generate a report and settle my transactions?
As part of the settlement process, you should first print a totals or detail report to confirm your batch totals.

  1. Select the icon at the bottom right of the screen with a design of a printer.
  2. Select the report you wish to print, or select the icon with two arrows at the bottom left of the screen to access additional reports. Press “CANCEL” to return to the main menu.

A settlement will process all purchases and credits in the current open batch, applying all charges and credits to your customers’ cards and sending all funds due to your account. Settle daily in order to receive timely deposits of your funds.

  1. Select “SETTLEMENT.”
  2. Enter the total of the batch from your TOTAL or DETAILS REPORT and press the green “OK” key.
  3. The batch will settle on the host, be deleted from the terminal, and the terminal will return to the main transaction menu.

Using Your Ingenico iCT250, iWL250G, or iWL220B Terminal

How do I set up my terminal?
First, connect your terminal to its power supply and internet source.

If connecting the Ingenico iCT250:

  1. Connect the power supply to the round port on the side of the power connector.
  2. Connect your ethernet cable to its port on the opposite side of the power connector.
  3. If you also require a phone line, connect it to the second port, next to your ethernet cable.

If connecting the Ingenico iWL220:

  1. Your terminal has two parts: a handheld terminal and a communication base. This base connects to your payment processor over the internet or a phone line.
  2. Connect the power supply to the round port at the side of the communication base.
  3. Connect your ethernet cable to the port at the left of the power supply.
  4. If you require a phone line, open the cover underneath the base. Connect the phone line to the port marked “IN” next to a telephone icon.

If connecting the Ingenico iWL250:

  1. Your terminal wirelessly connects to your payment processor using a built-in cellphone antenna and SIM card. Its charging base only needs to be connected to a power supply.
  2. Connect the power supply to the round port at the side of the charging base.
  3. Skip the next step (configuring your default connection) and proceed to performing a Key Exchange.

Next, configure your default connection.

  1. Press “#.”
  2. Press 3 to select “Setup Menu.”
  3. Press 2 to select “Communications.”
  4. Press 1 to select “ComsPriority.”
  5. Enter the code for your desired default connection method on the keypad, then press “Enter.”

    100 Dial Only
    120 Dial Primary, Ethernet Backup
    300, 312 GPRS (Sim Card)
  6. Press the red “X” to return to the Welcome screen.

Once your terminal has been connected, verify that it is communicating properly with your payment processor by performing a Key Exchange.

  1. Press “#.”
  2. Press 8 to select “Host Management.”
  3. Press 1 to select “Key Exchange.”
  4. Select “Yes.”
  5. The terminal will connect and display a “Succeeded” message. If the Key Exchange is unsuccessful, contact technical support.
  6. Press the red “X” to return to the Welcome screen.

Finally, perform an EMV Key Load to load the encryption certificates for chip and PIN transactions.

  1. Press “#.”
  2. Press 8 to select “Host Management.”
  3. Press 2 to select “EMV Public Key Load.”
  4. Press 1 to select “EMV Public Key Load” and wait for the “Download Successful” message.
  5. Press the green “OK” key.
  6. Press the red “X” until returning to the main screen.
How do I make a sale?
  1. At the Idle Screen, press 1 to select “Sale.”
  2. If prompted, enter Clerk ID and press “Enter.”
  3. Enter the sale amount using the keypad and press “Enter.”
  4. If making a credit sale, swipe the customer’s card, enter the last four digits of the card, and press “Enter.”
  5. If manually entering the customer’s credit card number, input the number using the keypad and press “Enter.” Enter the expiration date (MM/YY) and press “Enter.”
  6. If making a debit sale, swipe the customer’s card or have the customer insert their chip card into the card reader.
  7. If prompted, have the customer select language (English or French).
  8. The customer will press “OK” to confirm the transaction amount, select “CHQ” for chequing or “SAV” for savings, enter their PIN, and press “Enter.”
  9. The transaction will authorize and the merchant receipt will print automatically. Select “Yes” to print the customer receipt or “No” to exit.
How do I refund a transaction?
  1. At the Idle Screen, press 2 to select “Return.”
  2. If prompted, enter password and press “Enter.”
  3. If prompted, enter Clerk ID and press “Enter.”
  4. Enter the refund amount with the keypad and press “Enter.”
  5. Have the customer insert their chip card into the card reader.
  6. If prompted, have the customer select language (English or French).
  7. If prompted, have the customer press “OK” for refund amount.
  8. If refunding a credit transaction, swipe the customer’s credit card and press “Enter.” Enter the last four digits of the card number and press “Enter.”
  9. If refunding a debit transaction, the customer will select “CHQ” for chequing or “SAV” for savings, enter their PIN, and press “Enter.”
  10. The refund will be authorized and the merchant receipt will print automatically. Select “Yes” to print the customer receipt or “No” to exit.
How do I void a transaction?
  1. At the Idle Screen, press 3 to select “Void.”
  2. Select the search method: “All,” “Ref #,” “Clerk #,” “Invoice #,” “Account #,” “Customer #,” “RRN,” or “Approval Code.”
  3. Locate the transaction you intend to void using the arrow keys, then press F4 to choose “Select.”
  4. Select “Yes” to confirm void.
  5. If voiding a credit transaction, the transaction will authorize and the merchant receipt will print automatically. Select “Yes” to print the customer receipt or “No” to exit.
  6. If voiding a debit transaction, have the customer insert their chip card into the card reader. The customer will press “OK” to confirm the transaction amount, select “CHQ” for chequing account or “SAV” for savings account, enter their PIN, and press “Enter.”
  7. Press F1 to confirm void.
  8. The transaction will authorize and the merchant receipt will print automatically. Select “Yes” to print the customer receipt or “No” to exit.

  1. At the Idle Screen, press 7 to select “Settlement.”
  2. Select “Yes” to Close Batch and Deposit Funds or “No” to exit.
  3. Select “Accept” to confirm totals or “Cancel” to exit.
  4. The settlement will process and the report will print.
